 Information for applicants

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander from a Queensland remote Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community
  • Tenants must be 18 years or older, however household members who need to access the housing, such as children/dependents can be under the age of 18;
  • provide evidence of:
    • full-time enrolment in an approved course with a TAFE, registered training organisation, high school and/or other education provider or university
    • ongoing full-time employment or employment that could lead to a full-time job.

Successful applicants will be matched to accommodation that will best meet their needs. 

You will need to fill out an application form which is also available from Housing Service Centres, community housing providers, Community Hub or the Queensland Government Agent Program office. These organisations can also help you complete the application process.
