 Design and product standards

The social housing portfolio is managed to deliver housing assistance in line with the department’s service delivery objectives, to improve the access of Queenslanders to safe, secure, appropriate and affordable housing.

New social housing construction projects are undertaken with careful consideration of location, site and town planning requirements.

Design and construction standards

We aim to ensure that new social housing dwellings are thoughtfully designed, meet service delivery requirements, minimise ongoing maintenance and contribute to diverse and sustainable communities.

Product standards—social housing dwellings

Our product standards outline the building products, fixtures, fittings and other items required in social housing dwellings in line with Queensland's standards.

Individual standards may be applicable for maintenance, upgrade and modification work and/or new construction.
