Fleet efficiency and utilisation policy

The QFleet Fleet Efficiency and Utilisation Policy for the Queensland Government Motor Vehicle Fleet (PDF, 1.3GB) is developed to drive action to improve vehicle use and strategic fleet management across government.

It aims to avoid unnecessary costs to government and to demonstrate value for money in the use and management of the fleet asset.

Executive remuneration package—motor vehicle

Until recently, SES and other entitled officers had the option of private use of a government owned motor vehicle under a salary sacrifice provision as part of their remuneration packages.
The Queensland Government has recently made changes to this arrangement. Effective 13 September 2013, an executive will be provided with an executive vehicle allowance as part of their remuneration package. An executive who had already purchased the private use component of a government owned motor vehicle as part of their remuneration package may retain this until the expiration of the current lease term.
Complete details can be found in Public Service Commission Directive No. 13/13 (the Directive does not apply to Ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly, members of the Judiciary and Marine Pilots.)

Use and parking of government owned motor vehicles

The Public Service Commission has issued a policy prescribing the use of Queensland Government-owned motor vehicles by employees of Queensland Government departments, public service offices and public sector units—Use of Government Owned Motor Vehicles and Parking of Private Vehicles on Official Premises (PDF, 69KB).

This policy should be applied in conjunction with other policies mentioned above.
