Fleet efficiency and utilisation policy
The QFleet Fleet Efficiency and Utilisation Policy for the Queensland Government Motor Vehicle Fleet (PDF, 1.3GB) is developed to drive action to improve vehicle use and strategic fleet management across government.
It aims to avoid unnecessary costs to government and to demonstrate value for money in the use and management of the fleet asset.
Executive remuneration package—motor vehicle
The Government Policy-Executive Remuneration Package—Motor Vehicle (PDF, 73KB) details arrangements for executives who are eligible to have a fully maintained government owned motor vehicle as part of their executive remuneration package.
Section 23 of this policy provides for executive level officers who have a government owned vehicle as part of their remuneration packages, to purchase those government owned vehicles upon non-renewal of their employment contracts, resignation, or retirement from public service employment, at the discretion of the chief executive of the relevant agency.
The principles and guidelines for purchasing a government owned vehicle are in the QFleet Standard—Purchase of Vehicles by Executive Level Officers (PDF, 34KB).
The updated policy and standard took effect on 1 September 2010.
Use and parking of government owned motor vehicles
The Public Service Commission has issued a policy prescribing the use of Queensland Government-owned motor vehicles by employees of Queensland Government departments, public service offices and public sector units—Use of Government Owned Motor Vehicles and Parking of Private Vehicles on Official Premises (PDF, 69KB).
This policy should be applied in conjunction with other policies mentioned above.
