Building Policy and Practice

We develop and administer whole-of-government policy, guidance and standards related to all stages of the asset life cycle of government buildings. We also provide expert advice and support on policy, risk management and other matters impacting government owned and managed buildings and contribute to public policy development in relation to issues that affect the built environment.
In addition, we manage risk associated with the selection of building industry contractors and consultants, and we represent the Queensland Government on national, inter-governmental and inter-departmental bodies and committees that influence building asset management outcomes.
We administer the whole-of-government Prequalification (PQC) System for building contractors and consultants, and we oversee key policies and guidelines including the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF), the Maintenance Management Framework (MMF), the Building Asset Performance Framework (BAPF) and the Strategic Asset Management Framework (SAMF).
