Current events and news

To make sure community housing providers that want to continue delivering services in Queensland’s funded housing and homelessness assistance system have enough time and support to go through the registration process the transitional period has been extended.

The transitional period for non-government providers and local governments has been extended by two years to 30 June 2017.

Because of the complex issues surrounding registration, land tenure and Indigenous housing, Indigenous local governments and specified Indigenous Community Housing Organisations will have a transitional extension by four years to 30 June 2019.

Providers who applied for registration by 31 December 2014 will have more time to complete the registration process, including the opportunity to address some of the gaps in their applications. For those providers that are exiting, it will mean more time to negotiate a preferred exit option.
