 Building Policy Unit

We develop policy and supporting guidelines for building procurement and building asset management to meet government requirements.

We also provide advice to government and agencies, promote an enhanced relationship between government and industry; and promote a competitive, efficient, innovative and safe building industry supplier base.

We manage the Prequalification (PQC) System for building contractors and consultants.
We are also responsible for 2 key policies:

and the complementary best practice guidelines the Building Asset Performance Framework (BAPF) and the Strategic Asset Management Framework (SAMF).

We monitor and research developments in the Queensland building industry. We provide information through the quarterly Building Industry Bulletin and we keep industry informed about opportunities to undertake government building projects.
