 Building certification

Building certification involves independently checking and approving building work to ensure it complies with the safety, health, amenity and sustainability standards specified in legislation and building codes.

The guidelines for inspection of class 2 to 9 buildings provide building certifiers with guidance on how to meet their responsibilities for sufficient inspections under the Building Act 1975 and the Building Regulation 2006.

Building certification involves independently checking and approving building work to ensure it complies with all relevant standards. The Queensland Government is reviewing Queensland's building certification system to address industry and community concerns.
