Annual National Construction Code changes
The Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) releases draft amendments to all three volumes of the National Construction Code (NCC) for public comment. The frequency of NCC changes, from a 1-year to a 3-year amendment cycle, commenced with NCC 2016. To provide more accessibility to industry, the
2016 NCC volumes are now available free online.
The Building Codes Committee and Plumbing Codes Committee are the ABCB’s peak technical advisory bodies. Part of their roles is to provide advice and recommendations to the ABCB about the proposed NCC changes.
Building Legislation and Policy represents Queensland on both Committees.
If you would like to raise any issues about the NCC, please provide feedback through your industry body or directly to the ABCB. For more information visit
