3-03-036 The appeal by the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service pursuant to Section 4.2.10 (appeal by an advice agency under the Integrated Planning Act 1997) disputes the respondent's actions to
  1. issue a decision notice and the certificate of classification for the development application
  2. that the advice given by the appellant, as a referral agency (advice) under the Integrated Planning Regulation 1998, was not fully accepted by the respondent thus rendering a less safe approval than should be provided.

3-02-045 The appeal made by the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service pursuant to Section 89, Building referral agency is against advice of the Standard Building Regulation 1993 regarding the application of Building Code of Australia E1.5, Sprinklers and in particular, Table E1.5 Requirements for Sprinklers Note: 3(b) for the fit out for the warehouse area of the building. The premises are occupied by VMR Truck Parts Pty Ltd.

The tenancy fit-out development application included the erection of a proprietary brand, heavy duty racking system to a height of approximately 6 metres and used for the storage of a range of truck parts. The central issue for this tribunal is the application of E1.5 and whether the storage can be considered as an excessive hazard.

3-02-017 The appeal by the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service pursuant to Section 4.2.10 of the Integrated Planning Act 1997 relates to the inclusion of residential accommodation in a proposed aged care facility for frail and dementia patients. The appeal relates to a development application for building work that has been based on an alternative building solution. The Queensland Fire and Rescue Service were concerned for the fire safety afforded to occupants accommodated in the residential units in question and for the removal of fire. (PDF, 71KB)
3-02-008 The appeal by the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service is against the decision of the Private Certifier (Mark Cullinan Consulting Pty Ltd) to issue a certificate of classification for a light industrial shed after notification by the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service pursuant to Section 88(3)(b)(ii)(B) of the Standard Building Regulation 1993, that the building work does not comply with the Standard Building Regulation 1993. 3-00-038 The appeal under Section 4.2.10. of the Integrated Planning Act 1997 is against the decision of the Brisbane Certification Group to issue a preliminary approval for construction of apartments, disregarding the Queensland Fire and Rescue Authority's advice in relation to access and egress.
