Integrated Development Assessment System

Development in Queensland is controlled by the Sustainable Planning Act 2009. For more information view the Guide to the Sustainable Planning Act.

Self assessable

Building works for and on behalf of the state are defined as ‘self-assessable’ under the Act.

The term ‘self-assessable’ does not mean individual project teams can assess their own project.

Assessor

Under the Building Act 1975, any assessment must be undertaken by a licensed building certifier or other person qualified.

We can help you find a licensed building certifier or qualified person to carry out an assessment and offer information about the assessment process (PDF, 152KB) and what documents are required (PDF, 176KB).
