 Smart and sustainable homes

We continue to foster the development of smart and sustainable homes to promote housing that better meets peoples’ needs and is appropriate for Queensland’s climate while also offering financial benefits for the owner or occupier.

Smart and sustainable homes demonstrate good practice in their design and construction, making them more socially, environmentally and economically sustainable.

By carefully considering design, builders and renovators can build houses that perform better in the local environment with comfort and cost benefits for their occupants.

In a smart and sustainable home you will be able to move around more easily, feel safer, save money, help the environment and live in your home through all stages of your life.
