Better Neighbourhoods Logan is about:

  1. Creating local jobs and economic investment

  2. Building new and better housing that is connected to its local neighbourhood

  3. Providing a support system so people can be an active participant in their community.

Population to grow by 180,000 people by 2036 (Infographic)

It's expected that Logan's current population will grow to nearly 500,000 over the next 20 years. This growing population will need a place to live.

We have the opportunity to accommodate this growth, create jobs and help to deliver the housing that Logan will need.

More than 3000 homes to be built, more than 2000 jobs - over 20 years (Infographic)

A sustainable community needs a mix of public housing, affordable private rental and privately owned homes.

Better Neighbourhoods Logan will deliver over 3,000 new homes over the next 20 years through government-led development of social and affordable housing. This approach will also encourage further private investment, development and construction across the region, leading to more jobs, more opportunities and greater housing supply.

Better Neighbourhoods Logan provides the opportunity deliver more homes in the community for those in need. These homes will be peppered throughout the community and mixed in with affordable, private rental and privately owned homes and creating more diverse and sustainable communities and bringing our neighbourhoods to life.

Better neighbourhoods Logan will do more through partnerships in private industry, and will be looking to private industry to deliver many more homes to meet local demand.

55% need a 1 bedroom apartment, only 8% of our homes are this size (Infographic)

Government-owned housing should also meet people's needs.

55% of people needing social housing in Logan need a one bedroom apartment, but only 8% of our homes are this size because people's needs have changed over the past 30 years. 47% of social housing applicants need an adaptable home, while less than 20% are actually adaptable.
