Care Army

When the Care Army was announced on 1 April 2020, almost 28,500 Queenslanders answered the call and registered to volunteer. Volunteers assisted more than 70 organisations across the State to provide a range of services for vulnerable Queenslanders.

While we continue to unite and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Queensland Government is looking at opportunities to broaden the role of the Care Army. While the original purpose of the Care Army was to support seniors and vulnerable community members, we know there are more groups who require assistance through the ongoing pandemic and other events.

The Queensland Government is working with Volunteering Queensland to identify these opportunities.

Expanding the role of Care Army will provide volunteers with new opportunities to upskill, build knowledge and experience the personal satisfaction of giving back to their communities and helping those in need.

Does your community organisation need Care Army volunteers?
