Community Drought Support grants
Date: 03/06/2023
The Community Drought Support program aims to strengthen the resilience of drought-affected Queenslanders by building on existing community support mechanisms to increase access and participation in the community.
Across Queensland, organisations shared in up to $5 million of funding, with successful recipients of the one-off grants utilising the funding to provide:
- flexible financial hardship funding that alleviates cost of living pressures and hardship for individuals, households and communities and
- community events or activities, in drought-affected local government areas, that increase community participation and improve access to support and social connectedness.
Recipients of past funding rounds
In 2020, the Queensland Government provided $5 million in funding to 61 organisations, 71 organisations in 2021 and 55 in 2022.
