Community housing providers were invited to apply for registration from 1 January 2014 under the Housing Act 2003.

States and Territories have agreed to prioritise provisional Tier 1 and multi-jurisdictional providers for registration first, followed by provisional Tiers 2 and 3.

Queensland providers in all provisional tiers have been invited to apply during scheduled application windows. The application schedule takes a range of factors into account, including whether each provider operates across multiple jurisdiction or has any current contingent funding.

The Office of the Registrar has compiled a range of resources to assist providers with the registration process.

New entrants

Organisations that did not have registration under the former provisions of the Housing Act 2003 can apply at any time. These organisations should already provide, or intend to provide, community housing services. Further information can be found on the New entrants web page.
