Notifiable work

Notifiable work is a category of plumbing and drainage work that allows a plumber or drainer to perform the work without a local government permit or mandatory inspections.

This includes most work performed in existing homes and limited work on commercial buildings.

The Plumbing and Drainage Regulation 2019, Schedule 1 sets out the type or categories of work that can be done as notifiable work.

When you perform notifiable work, you must submit a Form 4 Notifiable Work to the Queensland Building and Construction Commission.

This work requires a plumbing permit to complete.
