Helping businesses thrive
Smart Precinct NQ (SPNQ) is a not-for-profit organisation supporting North Queensland businesses with programs that develop entrepreneurship, business resilience, economic development, and creation of jobs and future pathways.
They collaborate with local, state and Australian government departments to reach businesses in the community and promote and advocate programs.
On 30 March 2022, SPNQ completed the Business Concierge Project - a $1.1 million project for Department of Employment, Small Business and Training. This project was delivered as part of the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements for businesses affected by the 2019 monsoonal trough event.
“SPNQ has generated significant benefits to regional communities and businesses in building business resilience and adaptability through the project,” said Miranda Mears, Strategic Advisor Government and Industry.
“The project is currently in the data analysis and review phase, to gain learnings that will assist the government with data-based decisions to support communities and businesses that have faced disaster and disruption.
“The Business Concierge Service was a pilot which we hope to see expended into a wider program of works.”
