We recently teamed up with not-for-profit organisation, YellowBridge QLD to distribute cleaning bucket packs to help social housing tenants in Toowoomba keep their homes safe during COVID-19.
Toowoomba social housing tenant, Nora said it was a good idea and she was happy to receive the pack.
“I was very grateful the receive the cleaning supplies. They will definitely come in handy.”
The cleaning bucket packs were filled with essential items like soap, detergent, disinfectant, and reusable cloths.
Nora also sang the praises of the Toowoomba and South West Housing Service Centre staff, saying that they are always helpful and willing to lend a hand.
“When I need them, they are there for me, I even had one staff member help me find my puzzle piece the other day when they came to visit me,” said Nora with a laugh.
One of the worst things about COVID-19 for Nora is not being able to give someone a hug.
“I like to hug people to show them I care. That’s one of the first things I will do when I can – give my friends and the Housing Service Centre staff a big hug.”
YellowBridge QLD is also funded by the department to manage long term social housing and crisis accommodation for young people.
