If your organisation has already redeemed FairPlay vouchers, retain these funds and credit participants when your activities resume.
The expiration date on all Round 2 vouchers has been extended, and must now be redeemed by all Activity Providers by 25 November 2020.
You can also give the unredeemed voucher back to the parent or guardian, if they ask.
As part of the FairPlay terms and conditions for activity providers, you can’t provide a refund for any part of a voucher to a parent or guardian. However, you can be guided by your own internal refund policies for the remaining registration or membership fees.
Parents and guardians
If you have a Round 2 voucher, keep it until sport and recreation activities are able to restart. The expiration date on all Round 2 vouchers has been extended, and vouchers must now be presented to Activity Providers by 11 November 2020.
All registered activity providers have been asked, where possible, to retain the funds and credit participants once activities do resume, whenever that may be. If your child would like to participate elsewhere, talk to your club and ask if they may be able to transfer the remainder of the voucher amount directly to the new organisation.
If your organisation received funding under Active Clubs and you’re able to use the funds for their intended purpose, keep doing so until 31 January 2021.
If you want to use the funding for a different purpose, contact your local Sport and Recreation office.
COVID SAFE Active Clubs Kickstart
COVID SAFE Active Clubs Kickstart is a new initiative developed to assist local and regional sport or active recreation organisations to re-establish their operations post COVID-19, as part of the Sport and Recreation COVID SAFE Restart Plan.
Funding of $2,000 (GST exclusive) is available to approved organisations for equipment, training or eligible costs, enabling them to restart or continue providing physical activity opportunities across the community.
Emerging Athlete Pathways
The trial of pre-event payments has been postponed.
If you have already received a pre-event payment, we won’t ask you to refund these funds.
Future events have been removed from the published list in line with organisations’ advice about postponements and cancellations. Events will be reinstated once alternative dates can be confirmed.
You will still be able to apply for funding for events that happened in the last 6 months.
Sport and Recreation infrastructure projects
If you are experiencing difficulty completing your Active Community Infrastructure project on time due to the impact of COVID-19, talk to your local departmental representative about changing your current arrangements.
As part of the Sport and Recreation COVID SAFE Restart Plan, grants for minor works and support for up to 3000 clubs will be available through the Active Restart Infrastructure Recovery Fund. Applications will open in line with Stage 3 of easing restrictions.
