COVID-19: Working with the Ministerial Housing Council
- 5 May 2020 4:34PM
The Ministerial Housing Council (MHC) provides a platform to address housing challenges in Queensland and deliver quality housing outcomes through the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017–2027.
In response to COVID-19, the Honourable Mick de Brenni MP, Minister for Housing and Public Works, Minister for Digital Technology and Minister for Sport convened two teleconferences with the MHC to provide advice and information to members representing the housing, homelessness, and property sectors.
The teleconferences allow for a sharing of information relating to the Queensland Government’s response to COVID-19 impacts on the housing and homelessness sector, with a particular focus on vulnerable Queenslanders such as vulnerable renters, people at risk of, or who are experiencing, homelessness, and people living in high risk settings (i.e. congregate accommodation models).
Valuable input and expertise offered by MHC members during and outside these teleconferences will assist the government to shape COVID-19 responses and outcomes for the housing, homelessness and property sector.
Teleconference meeting summaries and other materials provided to MHC members will be available on the Ministerial Council Communique page.
