Identify Options for Improving Queensland's Managed Aquifer Recharge Regulatory Framework

The Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (DNRME) requires a Contractor to complete the following:-

Review the current regulatory frameworks for MAR across Australia and identify options for improving the way that MAR is regulated in Queensland.

Identify relevant issues with the current Queensland regulatory framework for MAR and further steps for resolving them. The focus will be on the following:

·         MAR interactions with the water entitlement framework managed by DNRME. 

·         the public health, water quality and environmental MAR-related matters managed by other Queensland government agencies, including Queensland Health and the Department of Environment and Science.

·         How the above inter-agency frameworks inter-act with each other for regulating MAR in Queensland.

The supplier will be engaged in accordance with Standing Offer Arrangement (SOA) DSITIASD01 under which the organisation is an approved supplier for SOA Category 5(i)
