Video transcript - Community Recovery COVID Ambassadors Check In QLD App
Irina: I’m Irina Buckman and I’m a member of the community recovery support team. We're just visiting all catering businesses throughout Queensland to see how you're going with registering for Queensland Check-in app. Have you heard about that one?
Restaurant worker: Yes we do.
Irina: Oh okay.
Owen: The Queensland app's been around for a little while both for businesses and individuals and it's been determined by the Chief Health Officer that it will be mandatory for all hospitality venues.
And it's had a huge uptake, the businesses that I've engaged with, from staff through the owners, are generally very supportive of it.
My name's Owen, I’m from the Queensland Government, I’m an ambassador for the COVID check in app, are you aware that you need to be on to that by the first of May?
Irina: We have ambassadors throughout the state, so we have people working in Cairns, in Warwick, so, yeah, no, it's happening everywhere.
I think after, you know, a year, we all experienced with COVID, it's good to be out and actually try to help our businesses as well.
Every business by the first of May is required to be registered, this is a website.
Owen: It's the human touch and as a community recovery worker that's just a really satisfying opportunity to help our fellow Queenslanders.
There's also some multilingual resources around so if you've got clients who might need to see it in other languages…
Irina: I do love my recovery work because it gives the opportunity to see things from a different perspective and help the community and meet other people.
