Community Recovery Forum 2019

The fourth annual Community Recovery Forum theme was The Recovery Journey - Building Resilience Together.

Building from the 2018 forum, the 2019 Forum strategically explored existing resilience building solutions and their grassroots application in local communities.

Community Recovery Forum 2018

The third annual Community Recovery (Human and Social Recovery) Forum was held on 25 October 2018 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The forum’s theme was Communities thriving, not just surviving. A number of Queensland communities had been significantly impacted by disaster events in recent years and the forum showcased innovative strategies some of these communities implemented to survive and recover.

The event featured 22 speakers who presented on a range of topics, from volunteering and business, through to climate change and community-led recovery.

The forum brought together more than 300 delegates from a diverse range of sectors, including:

  • Community-based organisations
  • Community recovery partners
  • Local Government
  • Community development consultants
  • Community Services and Industry Alliance
  • Volunteering Queensland
  • Queensland Fire and Emergency Services
  • Queensland Reconstruction Authority
  • Department of Employment, Small Business and Training
  • Department of Environment and Heritage
  • Queensland Health
  • Queensland Tourism Industry Council.
