Disaster management services

Under the State Disaster Management Plan, we have been assigned the primary and pivotal support functional role of building and engineering services.

These services are provided to support state departments and local government groups to undertake disaster response, relief and recovery operations. The provision of these services are outlined in our Disaster Management Functional Support Plan (PDF, 744KB).

We also help people with their immediate and long term housing needs, that have resulted from a natural disaster.

Under the Queensland Recovery Guidelines, we lead and coordinate the reconstruction and recovery of buildings.

We work closely with emergency services, other departments and agencies, local governments and industry/commercial sectors in disaster planning activities and response operations.

We provide expert advice and help on all-hazard disaster mitigation, response/relief and recovery strategies and policies for built infrastructure and departmental activities and operations.
