Social media response times

We will respond to questions via our social media channels during business hours from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. Messages will not be responded to outside these hours.

Our terms and conditions on social media

The Department of Housing and Public Works uses social media to keep Queenslanders up to date with the latest information relating to housing and homelessness services and building projects and opportunities.

The administrators of our social media channels are not obliged to engage in conversation via the comments section but will address issues raised if and when judged appropriate by the administrators.

You should contact the department by phone, email or in writing if you have:

  • a formal request, comment or enquiry
  • a complaint against staff or services
  • a response to an item for public consultation

We expect that participants will treat each other with respect.

We will remove comments that contain vulgar or abusive language, personal attacks of any kind, offensive terms that target specific ethnic or racial groups, and comments that do not remain on topic or are not productive. We will also remove comments that are spam or that promote services or products or contain political references.

We reserve the right to terminate your access to our social media channels and to delete any content posted by you. The Department of Housing and Public Works accepts no liability for any loss arising out of or in connection with such removal.

The Department of Housing and Public Works does not guarantee or warrant that any information posted by individuals on the social media channel as correct, and disclaims any liability for any loss or damage resulting from reliance on any such information.

Content posted on our social media channels are subject to the terms outlined by the social media channel's Terms.
