This page is dedicated to supporting staff with access to business tools and technology when working from your home computer.

HPW Webmail

What is it: HPW Webmail is available to HPW staff to access your HPW Outlook email account – full access to view, edit and create new email and calendar activities.

How do I access it: Click on Outlook webmail to access your email account or in your browser type in https://mail.hpw.qld.gov.au

To login you will be sent your password via SMS text.

Please note, if you have not updated the GAL with your mobile phone number – you will not be authorised to accept the SMS passcode. To update the GAL update tool, on your work computer visit http://mydpw/directoryupdate/ or select the Windows key (), and choose GAL Update.

Office 365 Mail (Housing)

What is it: Office 365 Mail is available to Housing staff to access your Outlook email account – full access to view, edit and create new email and calendar activities, as well as Contacts and Tasks.

How do I access it: To access your email account type in your browser https://portal.office.com

HPW Citrix portal with applications

What is it: The HPW Citrix portal allows you to access your work PC and other software and applications as you would use at work.

Pre-requisites: You will need to request access to the HPW Citrix Portal by completing a System Access Request Form (SARF) and submitting your form to the HPW Service Desk. You also need to update your mobile phone number via the GAL Update Tool so that you can receive SMS passcodes on your mobile phone.

To update the GAL update tool, on your work computer visit http://mydpw/directoryupdate/ or select the Windows key (), and choose GAL Update.

How do I access it: Type https://portal.hpw.qld.gov.au into your web browser. Please note that this link will not be accessible on your HPW PC as it is configured to be accessed externally.

Login by entering your HPW username and password. You will then be sent an SMS passcode to the mobile phone number you registered in the GAL Update Tool. 

Please note, if you have not updated the GAL Update Tool with your mobile phone number – you will not be authorised to access the HPW Citrix Portal until you do so.

Office 365 portal

What is it: The new Office 365 portal provides staff with access to a number of the Office 2013 products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and also access Skype for Business and OneDrive. If you use Microsoft Visio or Microsoft Project you will also have access to these applications via your 365 portal.

How do I access it: From your web browser type https://portal.office.com.

Microsoft Office 365 licenses

What is it: The Office 365 suite allows for 5 installations of Office per user. One of these licences will be used by your work device (PC, laptop, tablet) but in most cases, you will have 4 spare licences you can install on your personal devices – e.g. home PC’s for non-commercial use.
