Strategic partnership with NAWIC
QBuild is a strong supporter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). As a corporate member of the Queensland chapter, QBuild employees are eligible for NAWIC membership at no cost.
As NAWIC members, our staff receive access to member-only events and mentoring programs, scholarships, awards, networking, and professional development.
We support NAWIC’s target of 11% Women on Tools strategy.
Career development
Beyond industry partnerships, QBuild fosters a supportive internal culture. We do this through:
- Diversity and inclusion social group: A member-led group focused on career progression for women across all roles. Membership is open to all staff interested in supporting gender equity.
- Multidisciplinary opportunities: Our talented female building professionals are driving improvements through procurement and project management, finance, engineering, and architecture, as well as a multitude of additional specialised support roles .
How women are represented at QBuild
We’re committed to creating real opportunities for women across our workforce. Here’s how we’re tracking:
- 27% of the total QBuild workforce are women
- 25% of our apprentices are female
- 27% of senior positions are held by women .
Across Queensland, women now represent a record 15% of the overall construction workforce. However, 4% of these women are employed in trade roles (CSQ Horizon 2032 (PDF, 4.6MB)).
At QBuild, we are committed to changing this narrative. Women currently make up over a quarter of our apprentices, and we’re already seeing the positive impact of this shift. On‑site attitudes towards diversity, wellbeing and, most importantly, safety are noticeably improving as we continue to build a more inclusive workforce.
