Building and Other Legislation (Queensland Development Code Update) Amendment Regulation 2023
Amendment to the Building Regulation 2021 and the Planning Regulation 2017
The Building and Other Legislation (Queensland Development Code Update) Amendment Regulation 2023 (Amendment Regulation) updates:
- schedule 7 of the Building Regulation 2021 (BR 2021) which gives effect to the amended Queensland Development Code Mandatory Part 3.7 – Farm buildings and vehicle storage farm sheds (QDC MP 3.7)
- section 88 of the BR 2021 to include the additional on-site water supply options which may be used to meet QDC MP 3.7 firefighting water requirements for farm buildings
- schedule 9, part 3, division 3, table 3 of the Planning Regulation 2017 (PR 2017) to capture the new additional water supply options before the referral requirements to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services are triggered.
Farm buildings and vehicle storage farm sheds
QDC MP 3.7 was amended to better align with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) 2022 requirements for farm buildings and farm sheds. This QDC part replaces Part I3, Volume 1 of the BCA 2022.
