Right to information (RTI) legislation is the Queensland Government's approach to giving the community greater access to information.
Right to Information Act
Under the Right to Information Act 2009 and the Information Privacy Act 2009, the Queensland Government will provide access to information it holds, unless on balance it is contrary to the public interest to provide that information.
Accessing information
There are many ways to get information about the department:
- The publication scheme details information we routinely make available to the public (including finances, services, priorities, decisions and registers).
- The disclosure log has information requested and released through the right to information process.
- Our website or other areas of the department may have what you are looking for.
How to make an RTI application
Before you
make an RTI application, check to see if the information is already available in the publication scheme, disclosure log or here on the department’s website.
