Supporting speedy recovery
Munster Services Group is a Queensland-owned and operated business based in Logan, providing trade service solutions across infrastructure, water, utilities, food processing, industrial and building sectors.
They supported the speedy recovery of South East Queensland’s water and wastewater network after multiple flood events inundated major wastewater treatment plants and pumping networks, demanding repair, replacement and recovery.
“Our efforts addressed an unfolding environmental disaster for communities and regions as untreated waste was discharged to the environment,” said Eric Guthrie, Managing Director.
“When the floods hit Queensland, our workshop and field teams went into 24/7 response to protect and repair our water and wastewater networks, including flooded treatment plants and pump stations that were unable to treat waste before discharge to the environment.
“This disastrous and dangerous outcome for our local waterway, community and people had to be addressed with the greatest of urgency.
“Our field teams worked day and night wading through mud, water and sewage working side by side with our clients and their contractors assessing, protecting and repairing infrastructure. At the same time Munster’s workshop teams, including those who came out of retirement, worked on a never-ending delivery of pumps, motors and water treatment assets damaged by flooding.
“Be it a state, regional, local crisis or community need, Munster continue to deliver for Queensland through innovation, collaboration, local investment and community support - knowing that if a little help from everyone can make a big difference for Queensland’s communities and our environment.”
