Queensland is a state blessed with incredible natural resources. Our renewable energy transformation ensures we harness our abundant renewable energy sources, such as sun and wind.
The transformation is protecting and creating jobs; 64,000 new jobs in clean energy infrastructure; and 36,000 jobs in new industry development including renewable hydrogen, resource mining and metal refining.
Behind Queensland’s transition are real people with real commitment to emissions reduction.
Central Queensland Cattle farmer, Melinee, believes renewable energy can co-exist with cattle farming and other agriculture production.
'Queensland is home to the largest herd in Australia. Any renewable energy developments must co-exist with agricultural production, this must be non-negotiable when development plans are being approved.'
Far North Queensland small business owner, Taryn, understands firsthand the effects of climate change and the real-world benefits of renewables for her business as a tourism boat operator.
'There are many facets to helping the Great Barrier Reef. The reef is resilient, but it is our absolute duty to protect the reef. Providing cleaner energy where and when we can is our utmost responsibility. For us, our next generation vessel is electric hybrid.'
Renewable energy is already a part of our community and economy. It’s how Queensland is powering ahead.
